MORE ORIGINS

Each painted picture derives from the synthesis of observation and invention.  Every twist and turn in the thought process makes actual the  visual image. Each action that drives hand and medium towards construction of a visually coherent space, is essential. Every minuscule mark contributes to the entire story. Each picture represents a dramatic passage in time, compressed or extended. Every painting  is composed as a formal, aesthetic object. Each picture can be identified as an unique, authentic, enacted experience..

Expressing ideas through drawings and paintings is predicated upon the use of art media. Contemporary art supposes an enormous range of tools and media;  I   tend to specialize in carbon, graphite, collage, and acrylic paint.  Essentially, extensions in my hand, from the #4 liner to the #8 long bristle,  hand - ground  knives,  stainless steel scrapers,  hard and soft rollers,  along with stencils, templates and flexible hard edges,  execute intention into actuality.  Enjoyable is the experience of applying those mediums to paper and canvas. Enjoyable enough to be essential.
